MARY, MARY

These images are a selection taken from the book  'Mary, Mary' . The book is dedicated to all those whose hearts and homes were left in ruins, after the Irish Government gave the Catholic Church power to rule society, turning a blind eye to the abuse taking place within social, healthcare and educational institutions. Mary Mary is a semi-autobiographical account of what 'remains', as the land keeps score and nature takes its course. The ‘aftermath of trauma’ is evidenced within the largest diaspora of Irish people, many of whom have never fully recovered or returned to their homeland. Mary, Mary  is a 'photovoice' project for victims and survivors of ‘The Mother and Baby Homes’ Scandal.
